"My husband and I, as well as our 4 guests had an amazing stay at Whispering Pines!
Beautiful location and chalet, inside and out. Highlights for our group included the birds - blue jays, orioles and hummingbirds and loons. Even a cheeky red squirrel who chattered at me to fill up the feeders for him! LOL
Two of our party swam and one pitched a tent, and we played games inside when it rained (awesome selection) Awesome wifi service, although it was great not to be on my phone for hours at a time. Much nicer to chat and tell stories and sing camp songs.
Anyone who comes needn't bring jam, condiments, even spices. High end comfortable bedrooms and washrooms and a lovely loft. Easy to deal with host. Highly recommend."

" We've stayed too many times to count now! We keep coming back because our family loves it... serenity and quiet all in a beautiful landscape, and well the cottage has everything we need and then some. I love to cook nice meals while I'm on vacation and with the Traeger and wood pellet grill, I can do that with ease. There's also the comforts of home... air conditioning, dishwasher, towels, bed linens, cookware etc, we don't have to load up the car to the brim to enjoy our stay. It's always very clean when we arrive and that's super important to me as I'm a bit of a neat freak.
We love testing out new board games with our young adult children, playing a game of lawn darts or jumping in the refreshingly clean lake. We always love our time at Whispering Pines and it's why we keep coming back."

" The owners were able to accommodate us on very short notice when our vacation plans had to be changed. they made the check in very smooth and easy for us. The cottage was beautiful and Roxanne made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay.
The cottage was very clean and easy instructions so we could enjoy all the amenities. We really enjoyed cooking on the black stone grill and the sauna overlooking the lake was beautiful. We look forward to returning!

"We recently had the best time with a small group of five of us at this lovely cottage.
The cottage is very spacious and fully furnished. It has everything you could possibly need for a weekend away, they've thought of it all! We loved the walk-out style, with private "secluded in nature" type views. Being on a peninsula like plot with acreage of trees, a private beach entrance, gives you complete privacy from neighbours.
Everything was there, which made it effortless to relax! The cottage manual answered every question we had, with very easy to follow instructions and information to enhance our stay at the cottage. It came fully stocked with wood for the fire, sauna and hot tub. A massive stock of games; Indoor games including rock band and table games and an assortment of outdoor lawn games. Access to books and movies for a quiet family time indoors. Access to paddle boards and kayaks to explore the lake with. The weekend could not have been better anywhere else. We will definitely be returning!"

"Whispering Pines was perfect. If you want a nice quiet getaway with the family this is the place for you. The booking process was easy, the owners responsive and wonderful and the pictures dont do it justice. You have to come see it for yourself. Plenty of things to do, easy access to stuff in the area and a peaceful little nook for a snooze by the water. We took full advantage of the sauna too. The firewood heated sauna was the best. Thank you again and the kids already want to go back. PS. I understand the name of the cottage now!"

"We had an amazing 4 nights in this wonderful cottage. It was our second stay in the last year. The cottage is very clean and well appointed. There is so much to do on site, swimming, hot tub, sauna, games, fire pits. Nearby there is biking and hiking. We will definitely visit again! The owners are great, and very caring."

"If you are looking for a beautiful and heavenly place to rejuvenate, relax and recharge, this cottage has it all. The wood burning Sauna overlooking the calm lake, the hot tub, the private access to the lake and water activities, the rustic interior appeal, the fully equipped kitchen, the comfortable rooms individually temperature controlled, the amazing service from the owner, the landscape and bird watching, the many inclusions (Fresh water fountain, firewood, condiments, laundry etc) will certainly make your stay at this cottage one that you will never forget. Thank you for offering this Feel Good little paradise. Until next time...:)"

"We are returning guests at Whispering Pines. We keep coming back because we don't think we'd find another place that would check all the boxes like this place does. We absolutely love the peace, quiet and privacy. The fact that the cottage has a fully functional kitchen, comfy beds and beautiful decor inside and out, are icing on the cake. I absolutely love that my young adult children also enjoy their time there with mom and dad. It's where we go as a family to enjoy the outdoors, play games and take a breather from our busy lives. Thanks so much to Roxanne and Doug for entrusting us with their little slice of heaven. They are THE BEST hosts."

"We rented this cottage last minute as my spouse had unexpected time off and we saw the owners had a cancellation so we lucked in. It is an absolutely beautiful spot inside and out. We loved the gorgeous lake view in the morning with the sounds of the loons and birds as we enjoyed our coffee. The hot tub, sauna and direct lake access from the property was incredible. The owners have everything needed to have a relaxing holiday and pride of ownership and hosting is evident. They provided a comprehensive guide for the home and were very responsive throughout our stay. Thank you for hosting us. We hope to return again in the future and we will make sure to book far in advance. I am sure you have many returning customers!"

"Another beautiful winter weekend stay at this breath-taking cottage! This time with a group of friends, where we were spoiled with the sauna and campfire overlooking the lake. The breath-taking cottage is bright, spacious and extremely clean, with your choice of sleeping space on two levels. Such a peaceful spot where you can truly relax. All the little extras you wouldn't expect, and may have forgotten, are there waiting for you. The owners are a pleasure to communicate with and they ensure that check-in and check-out are easy. This place will continue to be my go-to for family and friend getaways. Thank you for sharing your cottage"

"This was my family's 3rd time staying here. Since our first booking, we haven't looked elsewhere because I honestly doubt anything can compare in terms of views, privacy, tranquility, location (close to Ottawa) and comforts of home.
When my family rents a cottage, we like a "rustic but updated" feel. I like feeling like I'm out in nature BUT with all the amenities I want. The beds are extra comfy and the kitchen is very well-equipped. My family has created wonderful memories here by fishing, swimming, playing games, cooking fantastic meals, etc. As soon as we drive up, it puts a smile on our faces. We are so very thankful that Roxanne and Douglas have opened up their beautiful cottage for us to use once in a while.

"What a beautiful place! My mom and I really enjoyed our stay at Whispering Pines Chalet and already look forward to going back again next year and every year after that. The cottage is big yet cozy, comfy beds with plenty of seating options on all 3 levels. We were just 2 but this place can easily accommodate a large family. I am picky and I was pleased with how clean it was, no dust in sight. There were a ton of amenities provided but we especially enjoyed cooking on the black stone grill while looking at the view of the lake. Our dog was permitted and he had the time of his life at the lake. The water was crystal clear, so nice! There are so many options of stuff to do even if it rains you will never be bored. 1 week stay is ideal in this beautiful place because even after 6 days we didn't want to leave. Thanks for making our vacation wonderful."

"Been to many cottages in Ontario and Quebec and this is a true gem. The cottage has all amenities and the lake is beautiful with minimal bugs so makes evening firepit experience so nice. There are many nearby amenities etc."

"This was our second stay for my family. We came back because we just love it! The cottage is large, airy, bright and comfortable. The views are absolutely spectacular. We enjoyed sitting on the back deck, taking in the view of the lake while watching various birds come by the feeders. They even took seed from my teen daughter's hand.
The water is perfect for swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding and we were thankful for the aquatic equipment. We also enjoyed an evening fire in comfort in the Adirondack chairs.
If you're looking for a large, well-equipped, clean place, look no further! Roxanne was also easily reachable and prompt to answer any questions we had. We'll be back for a third time next summer!!"

A perfect escape for our family to unwind and take in the unique experiences of the wood-fired spa, sauna and the beautiful clean lake. We were impressed by the owners' responsiveness, attention to detail, cleanliness of the chalet and the thoughtful amenities. They have truly taken the time to consider every aspect to create an experience leaving us eager to return to make more memories."

"Our family had such a beautiful time at this cottage. We were finally able to relax and unwind for a few days. A big plus for us was to be able to bring our dog with us. The whole process was easy and the host was amazing at answering questions and was even available for quick questions while we were there. The manual was an organized persons dream!!
The cottage is spacious and has everything you need.
The lake is beautiful, having the kayaks and paddle boards was awesome for our little adventures.
Would definitely recommend. Thanks again!"

"This cottage surpassed our expectations! The host is readily accessible and friendly! She truly cares about her renters and wants them to have an enjoyable experience.
The cottage itself is a dream! The sauna, wood burning hot tub, two decks (even hummingbirds who come by for a quick hello), and incredible view of the lake will make your experience a memorable one. My husband and I could not believe the tranquil setting.The lake is calm, quiet, and the perfect temperature!
We also took advantage of the biking nearby and took a three hour bike ride along the Blue Sea paved bike path (and a quick swim in the lake) and onwards to little towns. The soft serve ice cream in Messine is a little hidden gem- best soft serve ever!
The cottage itself is beautiful - a thoughtful layout that is inviting, big yet cozy and modern. Enjoy!"

"We rented Whispering Pines for 10 days. Upon arrival it was clear that this rental was going to be beyond our expectations. The place was immaculate and it sparkled cleanliness. The cottage is so well laid out. There is a quiet floor for chatting, reading, cooking; there is a third floor that could be used for reading but has a tv and all sorts of gaming equipment if you have kids (or big kids too); then the bottom floor is for sleeping or watching movies, shows. The outdoors: hot tub and sauna is amazing. The hot tub is heated by live fire and it takes some time to figure out how much and when to make a fire so that the water is perfect. Once you figure that out (not long) sitting in the hot tub with the smell of cedar and a wood burning fire under the night sky filled with stars or during the day with all the wildlife and singing bird is undeniably relaxing. This place is stocked with everything you would ever want including condiments and supplies. The hosts are responsive, friendly and helpful. They put together booklet on all the feature and how they are operated; what fun things can be found in the surrounding area and various other great info. I would highly recommend this cottage stay and we will now be a regular visitor. Can't wait to go in summer!"

Whether you are looking for a private wellness retreat, a refuge for artistic pursuits or a stunning chalet to create timeless memories, this is the place for you. Exceptionally kind and approachable hosts take care to ensure water, wood and amenities are well stocked to enjoy whatever weather or mood brings.
Despite being within easy reach of population centres, awesome nature trails and restaurants, the moment you walk into Whispering Pines you have secluded luxury in a chalet that is in perfect harmony with a stunning natural environment. Built literally into a steep rock slope, majestic trees can be enjoyed from decks and balconies on all three floors providing the opportunity to observe undisturbed wildlife up close from the comfort of the Chalet.
Amenities are boundless for all ages, be it for indoor or outdoor fun, culinary endeavours, or for relaxation and healing. For the latter, you won't want to miss out on the Chalet's Nordic spa essentials for a hot-cold-rest-repeat circuit. The wood burning hot tub, sauna, hammocks as well as the perfect depth for an end-of-dock dip or jump in Lac Roberge without the crowds is a must.
If you have not caught on yet, I highly recommend Whispering Pines Chalet! So happy to have discovered it and will definitely be returning."
